A key technique utilized in aptamer development using 2'-Fluoro-dUTP is SELEX (Systematic Evolution of Ligands by Exponential Enrichment). The SELEX process allows for the simultaneous screening of 1 x 1015 different oligonucleotides against a target of interest, such as a protein.
